Ok so I have a new PC (about 20 days old) with a GTX 1060 6GB, and I use MSI Afterburner to monitor and control the card, by default the power limit is set to 100% and temp is set to 83C and the two are linked.Freeware programs can be downloaded used free of charge and without any time limitations. This setting makes any game no matter how old run at 83C, rather the GPU run at 83C, none of my other cards I've owned have gone above 75C under load, even on GPU heavy games in 1080p. Początkowo opublikowane przez Bad_Motha:It's shooting up to 83*C cause of the default Fan Curve modify this I can fix this temporarily by reducing the power limit to 73% which limits the temp to 71C, a much more acceptable operating temperature, but if I shut down my computer the settings revert, is there any way to make these changes stay?Īlso I don't see any performance drops by limiting the power the card can use, I just hate seeing temps above 80C and hearing the fan work so hard for any game, spent $300 on the card, and want it to last a few years, I know that most cards can run up to around 90C before they shut off to prevent damage, but when you go from a R7 260x 2GB playing Red Faction at 1080p in high settings, and no more than 58-63C (stock card settings), to a GTX 1060 6GB and running in on ultra in 1080p and getting 83C (stock card settings) you know something isn't right. ![]()
